I am passionate about coral reefs. My research focuses on carbonate production in coral reef ecosystems. I am particularly interested in understanding how factors such as global warming and water quality affect coral growth. For this, I am using skeletal cores from different coral species to look back into the past for understanding how can coral reefs survive under different environmental contexts.

I received my M Sc. from National Autonomous University of Mexico, where I developed a technique to follow the growth of the polyps into a coral colony.
